About Modern Band Summit

About Modern Band Summit

Whether you are curious about modern band music programming or an experienced pro, the Modern Band Summit is the place for you! The Summit is a music education conference grounded in active participation that facilitates safe, fun, encouraging, and communal learning for educators experienced, new, and everything in between. Achieve your professional development goals…inspire and be inspired! For a closer look at last year’s conference, check out our 2021 sessions.

Learn From the Best

Attendees can expect panels and keynote discussions from leading thinkers in modern band and popular music education, as well as dozens of breakout sessions on topics including instrumental skills, songwriting, technology, classroom management, stage presence, dance and movement, and more. A special emphasis is placed on the diverse genres that reflect the cultures of students and the music they listen to, such as rock, rap, R&B, electronic music, and Latin music, among others.

Earn Professional Development

Most educators can earn over a dozen hours of professional development credit by attending Modern Band Summit! Please check with your district regarding acceptance policies.

Have Fun

In addition to professional development, the Summit encourages you to make music with colleagues (whether you’re attending in person or from home) while providing networking and bonding activities, in adherence to the belief that community and mutual support among educators are critical to the development of thriving music programs.

The Modern Band Summit is presented by national nonprofit Music Will. For more about Music Will’s efforts to transform lives by restoring, expanding, and innovating music education in our schools, please visit littlekidsrock.org.
