We’ve partnered with HARMAN International to celebrate Music In Our Schools Month®. Through our Music Starts Here initiative, we are raising awareness about the benefits of music education for all children, advocating for every student to have access to music in their schools. Music programs have a critical role in shaping students’ academic, emotional, and social development. In a time when budgets are being cut and music programs are often the first to go, we must remember that when music thrives in our schools, our children and our communities thrive with it—because music starts here.
We Know the Importance of Music Education
Schools with music programs have a 90.2% graduation rate, compared to just 72.9% in schools without music education.
Music students score significantly better in science, math, and English than their nonmusical peers.
85% of teachers report that since starting Music Will's program in the classroom, students are more engaged in school.
