Teacher Appreciation Week
Celebrate the teachers who make music possible and change lives every day. Write a thank-you note to a teacher who inspired you or your child—or make a gift in their honor to help put more instruments into classrooms through our new grant program. You can even send them an e-card to show your appreciation!

Help Us Put More Instruments in Classrooms
We’re rallying 1,000 supporters to raise $25,000 for Music Will’s new instrument grant—and thanks to The Wildflower Foundation, every donation will be matched! Write a note to a music teacher who made a difference in your life & make gift in their honor to help today’s educators bring music to more kids. You can even send your teacher an e-card! Every dollar you give will go twice as far to get instruments into students’ hands.

Teacher Shoutouts
Mr. John Von Glahn
Mr. Von Glahn gave my daughter the courage to pursue her love of music and singing further. With his positivity and encouragement, she joined choir, the a cappella groups, was in rock band, and performed in several musicals. She still is actively involved with a cappella through her group, Inside Voices, today. Linnea might not have gotten so much exposure or had the community of her music peers if Mr. Von Glahn hadn't pushed her to explore further. Thank you. We are forever grateful how you have influenced her musical experience.

Mr. Seaward
To Mr. Seaward, whose encouragement and dedication helped me see that music is connection, discipline, and joy. Because of his class, I began to take music seriously, not just as a hobby, but as something worth pursuing deeply. He showed me the powerful impact a great music teacher can have on students’ lives. Thank you, Mr. Seaward, for helping me find purpose and possibility in music.

Mr. Rosato
Mr. Rosato was my 8th grade science teacher. He stands out because he was kind, patient and funny and for someone like me who wasn't good in math and science, his personality helped make the school year manageable and my science studies passable. He used to humor to connect with his students and his caring approach made a difference to someone like me. Math and science at the time were scary subjects but I think I passed his class with a C! And that was a triumph for a kid who had anxiety every time I stepped into the classroom.

Faith Lueth
Mrs. Lueth led the choir and orchestra in Needham High School. I wasn't the best violin player, but she created such a community in our orchestra that I just loved being a part of it. And she encouraged me to begin singing and join the choir which became an incredible part of my life. When I was the only student from Needham invited to audition for the All-State Choir, she actually drove me to the auditions herself since I didn't have another way to get there. She passed away in 2022, but she is certainly remembered.

Mrs. Newman
Mrs. Newman introduced me to the magic of music in elementary school! Through the world of imagination, storytelling through music, singing, exploring other languages and cultures, and playing instruments starting in Kindergarten, you helped shape my identity as a musician and storyteller. Your influence impacts me every day. Although she sadly passed away years ago, her memory lives on through the countless students she inspired. Thank you for everything, Mrs. Newman!

Mrs. Mathieu
Mrs. Mathieu, I will always have fond memories of us playing the saxophone together! You were my biggest champion and I will always appreciate the safe space you created for me when I was being bullied in school! Thank you for everything.
