Music Will, the national nonprofit transforming K–12 music education, has announced Music for Millions, a five-year growth campaign designed to dramatically expand access to modern, inclusive music learning for students across the United States.
A Vision to Reach Millions Through Music
For more than two decades, Music Will has empowered 1.8 million students in all 50 states through the Music Will Approach—a relevant, inclusive way of teaching that centers the music students already know and love.
With Music for Millions, Music Will aims to serve 11 million students annually by 2030, not only by expanding access to music education but also by encouraging participation among students who have access but have not yet chosen to engage in school music programs.

Tackling the Participation Challenge
Even when music is offered in schools, most students don’t participate. Research shows that 80% or more of students (roughly 40 million children) who have access to school music programs either drop out or never join. Music education cannot transform lives if students choose not to participate.
Music for Millions addresses this by creating engaging, culturally relevant, and student-centered programs that inspire students to join, stay, and thrive in music education. By focusing on participation as much as access, Music Will ensures students experience the benefits of music programs—building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills along the way.

Ambitious Goals for the Next Five Years
Over the next five years, the Music for Millions campaign will:
- Reach 1.2 million students annually through Music Will’s direct programs.
- Empower 6,000 teachers each year to use the Music Will Approach in classrooms across the country.
- Extend the reach of the approach to an additional 10 million students annually through educators and partners.
- Raise $60 million to fuel program expansion, innovation, and sustainability—with $10 million already secured.

Thanks to a challenge grant from the Wildflower Foundation, every gift to Music for Millions will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling its impact.
