March was Music In Our Schools Month, so School of Rock’s CEO and Music Will supporter, Rob Price, along with Grammy-nominated artist, Steven Lee Olsen, paid a visit to one of our classrooms to witness the power of our program firsthand at Tusculum Elementary School in Nashville. Our unique classrooms allow students to learn a wide variety of instruments, from ukuleles to drums and keyboards, fostering a love of music and enriching their education.
But our students gain tools that extend beyond the classroom. Like Steven Lee Olsen said, “[music] connects people, it is a language itself.” For Steven, this experience was far more than just school, it was the joy and expression shared amongst the students.
Our new partnership with School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, aims to advance the familiarity and awareness of Music Will in communities, while also providing their students with opportunities to participate in School of Rock events and receive discounted enrollment to School of Rock music programs.
“It’s far deeper than I ever would have imagined,” Rob Price said afterward. “It’s a tribute to the teachers and the work of Music Will.” For Steven, this experience was far more than just school, it was the joy and expression shared amongst the students.
Thank you to Gibson Guitars for their generous donation of guitars to our classroom, and to Steven Lee Olsen and School of Rock for their ongoing support in giving children the life-changing gift of music education.
