Jennifer Martinez

Senior Coordinator, Teacher Experience

Jennifer Martinez is a dedicated music educator with a passion for making music accessible to all learners. With 12 years of experience in public music education, she has taught in both Kansas and Colorado, specializing in vocal music, Kodály pedagogy, and special music education. Her commitment to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments has empowered countless students to discover their musical identities and build a strong sense of community.

Inspired by her experience with Music Will’s Modern Band 101 training in 2016, Jennifer has become an advocate for broadening ideas on how to integrate diverse pedagogies and styles of music into thoughtful and inclusive instruction that reflects the community being served. She believes in using music as a powerful tool for fostering cultural understanding and empowering students to express themselves meaningfully.

In addition to her musical foundation, Jennifer holds certifications in project management and has a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects across various industries. Her background, combined with her passion for fostering community and supporting teachers, enables her to serve the vibrant community of educators from a place of experience and empathy.

Jennifer lives in the Omaha, Nebraska area with her husband, Mark. As lifelong nature lovers, they embrace opportunities to explore the outdoors with their two energetic children, Theo and Charlie, as well as their two dogs, Emma and Murphy. Additionally, Jennifer collaborates as a composer with her aunt, author and illustrator Nancy Riley, to create engaging children’s books that blend music, natural science, storytelling, and visual arts.
