Kanisha Williams
Coordinator, Workshops
Kanisha Williams joined Music Will in July 2024 as its Coordinator, Workshops. She brings with her insights across a variety of roles and settings, including television writers’ rooms, rehabilitation facilities, libraries, and arts & humanities festivals. Her varied experiences have sharpened her talents in project coordination, database management, writing, and problem-solving — skills she’s thrilled to share with the Music Will team.
Kanisha holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology from the University of Chicago (2020). While at UChicago, she served four years on the Major Activities Board, a student organization responsible for planning 3 annual concerts for the student body. Through that experience, she met memorable artists such as Mitski, SOPHIE, Tinashe, and T-Pain. She was also a college DJ, spinning juke, footwork, batida, and kuduro tracks on WHPK’s electronic format. Kanisha is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Computer Science from Alabama A&M University, focusing on data visualization, shape modeling, and image restoration.
She resides in Huntsville, Alabama, where the skies are so blue. When she’s not cracking jokes — on and off the page — she enjoys walking along Huntsville’s greenways and hiking trails, reading literary fiction, practicing Japanese and French, and struggling on her five-string bass.
Music Will always tell our stories.
