Music Will Hits The “Big Screen” Thanks to NASDAQ!

Last Thursday, Music Will’s staff and some of our teachers felt 70 feet tall as we were broadcast on the seven-story tower at NASDAQ’s MarketSite in Times Square. We could be seen by the world ringing the closing bell as part of our celebration, which included a trophy presentation to the winning band from this summer’s Big Kids Rock Battle of the Bands in New York.

Founder and CEO David Wish did the honors surrounded by Music Will teachers, staff, and supporters. The event brought big screen visibility to music education in public schools – on jumbotrons and with the help of the live broadcasts on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business News.

It was a historic day for the market as well. Business Insider reports:

“The Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked to a historic high just ahead of the noon hour on Thursday. The 128 point gain, or 0.7%, has run the DJIA above the 18,600 level for the first time on record. Additionally, both the S&P 500 (+0.5%) and the Nasdaq (+0.5%) hold onto solid gains.”

Most importantly, it was a banner day for the nearly 250,000 kids who will be returning to school this fall to classrooms that feel more like musical oases than inner city music classrooms, thanks to the support of all of you.
